Founder / Principal Researcher

Jakob Barton

Jakob Barton is the founder of the Terrain-Atmosphere Research Laboratory (TARL), an independent research organization focused on atmospheric science and the interaction between the atmosphere and the environments in which it develops.

His work focuses on atmospheric research, severe weather, climatology, complex terrain, field observation, instrumentation, and the development of new approaches to understanding and forecasting atmospheric behavior.

TARL was created to provide a long-term foundation for this work and for the development of future research programs.

Our Researchers

A research team that will grow with TARL.

TARL is currently a founder-led research organization. As the laboratory develops, we intend to grow into a broader team of researchers and collaborators working across atmospheric science and related fields.

Future researchers may contribute to individual research projects, field campaigns, instrumentation, atmospheric modeling, forecasting, and other areas of TARL's work.

Future Development

More researcher profiles will be added as TARL grows.
