A digital practice powered by TARL

Good digital work starts with a clearer question.

Helicity Creative turns ideas, tasks and rough requirements into useful websites, apps and software interfaces. It is the digital design and development practice operated by Terrain–Atmosphere Research Laboratory (TARL).

Two connected practices

Different work. Shared foundation.

Terrain–Atmosphere Research Laboratory

Research and scientific work

TARL remains focused on atmospheric research, scientific analysis and its research-facing work. Its methods and technical foundation inform the way Helicity approaches clear, dependable digital systems.

What Helicity works on

A practical set of digital services.

Each project begins with a real user task and a scope that is clear enough to review before the build.

What is taking shape

More ways to work together are on the way.

In development

Helicity Studio

A future workspace for clients to follow projects, review files and keep project details together.

In development

Publishing and hosting support

Current website delivery is source files. Domain connection, hosting and publishing are not available as a standard service yet.

In development

Data services

Data processing, organization and analysis services are being developed as a separate Helicity Creative offer.

In development

Business services

Business workflow support and digital systems will be introduced once their scope and delivery are ready.

Jakob Barton, founder of Helicity Creative.

Founder-led work

Meet Jakob Barton.

Jakob founded Helicity Creative to bring website, app and software work into one clear digital practice alongside TARL’s research. He leads the design and development work and stays directly involved as a project moves from its first questions to a usable handoff.

The work is grounded in practical problem solving: understand what people need to do, make the interface easier to follow, then build the agreed first version with a clear boundary around what it does and does not include.
